The end of summer is approaching fast and I hope that you all had some good time with family or friends, vacations, barbeques, and other fun activities. Now it’s time to start a new season. Many of you enjoyed our summer brunches in July and August at Marie Callender’s. So we stayed in touch during our summer hiatus. We start the new season with a potluck lunch of salads and desserts on September 20th at 12 noon in Room 1. Please mark your calendars. Members with a last name starting with A-K please bring a salad and those starting with L-Z bring desserts. This will be easy and fun for everyone. Please plan to come. Also, please pay your annual dues at this meeting ($10 or $15 for a couple). In our last newsletter we forgot to mention our June Birthday members: Mary Jane Majors, Harold Von Scotti, Amada Sena. Happy belated Birthday to you all. September Birthdays: Leona Cohen, Ted De Roos, Louella Koch, and Una Nilson. October Birthdays: Jack Doyle, Nancy Phinney, Father O’Dwyer, Florence Rishko. November Birthdays: Shelly Cohen and Mary Fabos. We wish everyone a Happy Birthday, good health and happiness. I am writing this newsletter from my bed because I am recovering from a total knee replacement surgery. Ines Montanari had surgery as well. Please send her a card; it’s a long road to recovery for her and it helps to know that we are thinking about her. One of our longtime members Florence Rishko has moved to Colorado to be with her daughter. Remember her in your prayers! Her e-mail address is Florence.Rishkolilac@gmail.com.
