History: When the construction of our church was completed in 2000, our founding pastor, Msgr. Peter O’Reilly, asked the Men’s Club to organize a one day parish festival that would celebrate the faith community of St. Maximilian Kolbe and the many blessings we have been given in our parishioners and our parish “village”. The first festival was held in early September, 2000.
Today, the Fall Festival has maintained it’s intended purpose to celebrate the spirit and blessings of our faith community. It has expanded to include a Family Dinner on the Saturday evening of Festival weekend, with the festival being held the next day.
The leadership of the Festival has migrated from a strictly Men’s Club event to one that includes many of our ministries taking a segment of the festival as their own. These ministries include;
- Respect Life;
- Small Church;
- Ushers/Greeters;
- Kolbe’s Korner,
- Courageous Women,
- Sacristan’s,
- The Men’s Club,
- Third Age,
- The Parish Staff,
- Youth Ministry,
- Music Ministry.
As with any volunteer event, the success of the festival is dependent on parishioners willing to give their time and talents in leadership, or helping for a few hours during the festival. If you are interested in making a contribution of your time and talents, please contact me.
